You would struggle to find a better credentialled maiden in Australia. Miss Elvee had put the writing on the wall at her previous six career starts. Today at Caulfield in the Premier Signs Plate over 1200m she confirmed what her trainer and we had previously thought of her - a filly of considerable talent. Miss Elvee was beautifully ridden by Michelle Payne, positioning the filly outside the lead and upon straightening you knew there was only going to be one winner with Miss Elvee surging clear to win by 1.3 lengths.
It is not only today's win which gets you a little bit excited, with Miss Elvee being a half sister to Red For Lou (Group 1 & Group 3 Placed). With this sort of family and the promise of more, Miss Elvee's dam, Luxapal was sent back to Elvstroem in 2010. We can report that Luxapal is safely in foal on a 4th September 2010 covering.
