Jewelled Crown (b/br f 3 Elvstroem - Cadillac) gave trainer J B Cummings a pleasant surprise when proving too strong in her 1350m Maiden at Wyong on Thursday. Across the Tasman on Wednesday and Kullu (b c 3 Elvstroem - Way Cool) went some way towards justifying his nomination for the $1 million NZ Derby in March with a gutsy all-the-way victory in his 1400m Maiden at Te Aroha for trainer Stephen McKee.
