SEALYNX DEBUT

We said from a while out that the best of Elvstroem’s first-crop would be seen as three-year-olds and that is what is happening. Group 1 performances by Viking Legend and Carrara are being backed up by winners around Australia and at Perth’s Ascot racecourse on Tuesday, Sealynx (3 c Lady Jaguar) made an impressive winning debut over 1200m.

Starting a heavily backed $3.50 favourite, Sealynx drew away in the straight to score by a length and a quarter in the slick time of 1:09.82 and running his final 600m in 34.24.

Sealynx was purchased by Damon Gabbedy (pictured) as a yearling at the Easter Yearling Sale and he is out of a Last Tycoon (Ire) half-sister to stakes winners Gallopini and Land Speed Record.

With results like this it’s no wonder broodmare owners are still ringing to book their mare into Elvstroem. At $27,500 including gst he is real value in a world of hype.
