1st January 2011
Elvstroem has kicked off 2011 in fine style at Morphetville today. To kick things off They Won't Last (4YO Gelding x Jovan) ran a terrific 2nd in the Schweppes Mixers Handicap over 1600m to follow up his two previous Adelaide city wins. It's been a big preparation for the promising son of Elvstroem with wins at the start of his preparation at Geelong and Ballarat, however it was once he has migrated across the SA border that he has really hit his straps with two wins at Morphettville. With the sort of form and consistency he has displayed this preparation we look forward to seeing what he can further produce for the Patinack Farm Team.
Only 40 minutes later in the sixth race of the day and it was another promising son of Elvstroem strutting his stuff. Langridge Street (3YO Gelding x Fleur de L'orient) had previously shown promise with a 3rd at Geelong on debut and 2nd at Morphettville. Today though he broke his duck in impressive style, given time to find his feet by Paul Gatt he proved simply too strong in the straight to win by a long neck. At only his 3rd career start Langridge Street has already recouped his $20,000 purchase price and a promising career awaits.
