BRAND OF GREATNESS

25 September 2010

Friday night saw another dazzling performance from Hay List, who walked away with the Manikato Stakes (Gr 1) at Moonee Valley.

Hay List is the latest in a long string of high-class performers to have been foaled and raised at Blue Gum Farm. Indeed, he wears the BG brand on his near shoulder and the son of Statue Of Liberty (USA) looks the testing material for the major sprint races over the forthcoming Melbourne Spring carnival.

Trainer John McNair says more Group One glory awaits Hay List during the Melbourne Cup carnival.

"At this stage he'll go to the Patinack Classic. He may have one start before then, possibly the Moir (Stakes)," he said. "I'm really excited about getting him up the (Flemington) straight.

"I'm also confident he'll get a mile, but we'll keep him to sprints this prep."

Winning jocket Glyn Schofield was suitably impressed. 'He's just a perfect racehorse,'' Schofield said. ''He's gone left-handed and right-handed and blown them all away.
