Finishing hard to score another victory, its a consistent feat of the Johannesburg Sire Line. Once again this has been the case in the form of his sire son Scat Daddy whom has finished powerfully to score the 2011 Leading First Crop Sire in the US. With 29 winners, 5 Stakeswinners, 3 Group Winners and 11 Stakes performers overall and a touch over $1.5 Million in Earnings Scat Daddy has overpowered many highly touted Freshman Stallions.
In addition to claiming the scalps of many highly touted Freshman Stallions, Scat Daddy has also claimed the scalps of many high profile stallions in the 2011 Leading Sire of Two Year Olds. In fact Scat Daddy has finished Third on this sire list based on earnings, but he has had more 2YO Winners than any other Stallion, more Stakes Winners and more Stakes Performers. All of this adds up and has seem him have greater 2YO figures than sires the calibre of Tale of the Cat, More Than Ready, Street Cry, Bernardini, Elusive Quality, Distorted Humor.
The precocity of the Johannesburg sire line continues to evolve world wide, with Johannesburg himself being World Champion Juvenile of the World in 2001, Scat Daddy himself a Group 1 Winner at 2 & 3 and the latest instalment being Dual Group 1 Winner, Turffontein whom has just completed his second season at Blue Gum Farm, covering some 101 top quality mares.
Turffontein is the only sire son of this precocious and dominant sire line at stud in Australia. With lovely first crop foals on the ground and another quality book of mares in foal, it all adds up to another chapter in this sire line that keeps on delivering.
