latest News on Blue Gum Farm

Things have been heating up at Blue Gum Farm in recent times. The onset of summer, frantic Christmas and New Years festivities, yearlings coming into the barn for their preparation for the upcoming Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale and the progeny of Elvstroem greeting the winners circle on a regular basis.

Saturday was extremely productive with John O'Shea continuing his affection for the Elvstroem offspring with 3YO Filly Sorellina winning by 2-1/4 lengths on debut at Gosford in a very impressive manner over 1100metres.

Across the ditch in NZ it was Queen of Rock whom saluted at Stratford over 1200m. Showing a liking for the more inclement conditions of Stratford, Queen of Rock showed plenty of early tow in the Taranaki Turf Club Handicap to lead early and then spring right away in the straight to win eased down by 3-1/4 lengths.

With plenty of success over the festive season the Five Time Group 1 Winning Champion in Elvstroem now sits entrenched in the Top 25 Australian Stallions by Winners for the 2011-2012 season.
