(The seemingly never ending task of analysing bloodlines to see which Stallion suits your mare)
Broodmare Owners are you looking for an ever evolving sire line that just keeps on delivering? Yes..... read on, actually read on and also check out a couple of news stories elsewhere on this site as well as checking out Bloodhorse' website (www.bloodhorse.com), in particular the freshman sire list, click here
The Johannesburg sire line is continually evolving, Johannesburg is only 12 years old himself and continually getting stakeswinners world wide. In addition his Sire Sons are getting people talking. In the US Scat Daddy is dominating the Freshman Sire List, he leads on earnings, winners, stakes winners, stakes performers, everything. 48 runners, 17 winners, 3 stakes winners, 4 stakes placed runners, 14.58% of his runners are stakes
At the weekend it was the UK who got to see the talent that this sire line is producing in the form of Daddy Long Legs who brilliantly won the G2 Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes over 1600m. Trainer Aidan O'Brien is talking about races the calibre of the G1 Racing Post Trophy and the Breeders Cup where he could potentially meet another of Scat Daddy's promising sons in Finale
In 2010 we were delighted to secure Turffontein, a Dual G1 Winner who possesses all the qualities of a top quality stallion. Turffontein is from this sire line, an unbroken Sire Line of Six Group 1 Winners and he is the only son of Johannesburg that currently stands at Stud in Australia. In a country which is saturated with Danehill/Danzig blood (at least 47% of foals born in 2010 were to have Danehill/Danzig blood in their pedigrees), Turffontein provides a top class proven bloodline that has already shown an affinity with such prevolent bloodlines. Scat Daddy is already showing a great affinity with four of his seven stakes performers possessing Danzig blood in their pedigrees.
With a cracking first crop of foals in 2011 and an ever expanding book of top quality mares booked to him make sure you get onboard Turffontein.
