It was with great pride and satisfaction to see Sincero (3YO G Umatilla x Yours As Always) deliver Blue Gum Farm's 30th Group 1 Winner in such a devastating fashion to claim the 2011 Stradbroke Handicap.

Trainer Stephen Farley has been patient and maticulous in his planning of this preparation for the highly talented son on Umatilla (NZ). Jason Taylor settled Sincero nicely in behind the speed and upon straightening was looking for a run, ironically it was Beaded who when she kicked for home enabled Sincero to peel out to the centre and finish all over the top in the final 100 metres to score in breathtaking fashion by a neck.

Sincero's first Group 1 victory is a great story in so many ways. He was bred by Roger Gorham with the plan based around a duplication of Stolen Hour (USA) through sisters Best In Show and Reckless Driver. At the sale ring Sincero was knocked down for $8,000 at the  2009 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale. In winning the Stradbroke he has now won nine of his thirteen starts and accumulated $1,010,225 in earnings.

Sincero registered Group 1 Winner Number 30 to be conceived at Blue Gum Farm and also became Umatilla's 6th Group 1 Winner, following in the footsteps of Umrum, Streak, Bohemiath, Umah & Valedictum.
