In the east and the west Elvstroem's offspring continue to excel. This was the case at Sandown and Belmont Park yesterday. At Sandown the Peter Moody trained Deliver the Dream (4YO M Elvstroem x Fayrouz) made it win number five from only 12 starts when she raced away to win by 2-1/2 lengths in the Le Pine Funerals Handicap over 1400m. Luke Nolen had the heavily backed favourite sitting outside the leader early on and she travelled beautifully in transit before spacing her rivals upon straightening for home, she was being eased down over the final 100metres.
Later in the afternoon it was Zip Code (4YO G Elvstroem x Magic Broom) who was strutting his stuff in WA. This highly talented son of Elvstroem had made a promising return to racing at Ascot in April and at Belmont Park yesterday he went right on with the job for Steven Parnham. He jumped beautifully and settled easily in front and from there it was a case of how far with Steven Parnham letting him rip at the top of the Belmont Park straight to race away with the Railways Football Club Handicap over 1300m by two lengths. Zip Code has been ever so consistent with his six career runs to date and he is yet to be unplaced with two wins, three seconds and one third.
Congratulations to connections of both horses and we look forward to both progressing further.Back
