Today's Timaru Stakes (Listed, 1400m) winner Draconic gave Umatilla (pictured above) his 31st Individual Stakeswinner. The 4YO Gelding (x Rhythm And Light) led from barrier to box and gave nothing else a chance, drawing away to win by a length. Draconic took his record to 6 wins and 5 placings from 14 starts for NZ $71,890 in earnings.

Today's win also showcased the Blue Gum Farm brand B over G and the long association with Rob Harvey. Rob has been a long time supporter of the farm and this is most evident in Rhythm and Light's breeding record, having been to Umatilla (2003-2006, 2008) and Elvstroem (2007, 2009-2010) in the past 8 breeding seasons. As a result Blue Gum Farm are looking forward with great anticipation to selling the full brother to Draconic at the 2011 Inglis Autumn Yearling Sale and further to this the mare has an Elvstroem Bay Colt at foot and is back in foal to Elvstroem.
