Blue Gum Farm shuttler Canford Cliffs (IRE) sired an impressive new stakes-winner overnight in the UK with talented three year-old filly Al Jazi (Pictured) winning the Group III Queens Plate at Goodwood.
Owned by Al Shaqab Racing and trained by Francois Rohaut, Al Jazi dashed clear to win the seven furlong sprint by a length and three-quarters.
"Al Jazi wants a strong pace and good going. She always showed she was good enough to win a race like this,” said Francois Rohaut.
Al Jazi has won three of nine starts and is from stakes-winning Cape Cross mare Rainbow Crossing.
She is the fourth stakes-winner for Canford Cliffs, whose oldest Australian progeny are two year-olds and include handy winner Cliff Hanger.
Canford Cliffs stands at a fee of $13,750.
