19th Winner for Canford Cliffs

Waritta (GB) (pictured) became the 19th first-crop winner by Blue Gum Farm shuttler Canford Cliffs in the Prix de Saint-Germain Des Fosses (1400m) on Thursday.
Racing for just the second time for owner-breeder Jean-Etienne Dubois, she won by two lengths from Marguerite Malpic (Air Chief Marshal) at Vichy.
Canford Cliffs has now sired 5 juvenile winners in France, 11 in England and 3 in Ireland. He was represented by a third stakes winner when Aktoria was successful in the LR Prix Six Perfections at Deauville on Saturday.
Waritta is the first winner for Ossun (Anabaa), a Listed winner of the Prix Saraca at Saint-Cloud. The mare is a half-sister to Ladoga (Exceed And Excel) who won and was stakes-placed at Maisons-Laffitte.
Canford Cliffs shuttles from Coolmore Ireland to Blue Gum Farm in Euroa for a $13,750 (inc gst) fee. He won five Group 1 events during a star-studded racing career and his first Australian-bred two year-olds will face the starter at the upcoming spring carnivals.
