Winners Keep Coming for Canford

First season sire and Blue Gum Farm shuttler Canford Cliffs (Tagula) sired two new winners at Maisons-Laffitte on Sunday, taking his total tally to 11 winners. The first of his progeny to win was Al Jazi (2 f ex Rainbow Crossing by Cape Cross), who won a maiden over 1200 metres, with connections now eyeing stakes targets for the filly. This was followed by the victory of Pitou (2 f ex La Suvera by Choisir) who won over 1000 metres. His ninth winner came last week when Lady Clair (2 f ex Queen Of Carthage by Cape Cross) scored on debut at Catterick, and he made it 12 when Justice Lass (2 f ex Dibiya by Caerleon) won last night’s opening Maiden Fillies Stakes (6f) at Windsor. Canford Cliffs’ first Northern Hemisphere-bred crop includes two stakes winners in Painted Cliffs and Most Beautiful and he stand his fourth season at Blue Gum Farm this year for a fee of $13,750 (inc GST) this season, unchanged from the last two years.
