Turffontein's Great Start Recognised

Blue Gum Farm’s multiple Group One winner Turffontein was officially crowned Champion Victorian Freshman Sire at the recent Scobie Breasley Medal Night held at Melbourne’s Crown Casino Complex. Blue Gum Farm owners Philip and Patti Campbell were on hand to receive the award which was proudly sponsored by Condo’s Horse Transport.

Turffontein joined the likes of Noalcoholic (Fr), Rancho Ruler, Umatilla (NZ), Kenvain, Encosta De Lago, Statue Of Liberty (USA) and Elvstroem who were all Champion Victorian first-season sires from their Blue Gum Farm base.
Turffontein’s leading first crop performers were the very exciting filly Fontein Ruby, Bendigo VOBIS Gold winner Hunters Grace and the ultra consistent Melbourne performer Turfane.

Turffontein won the first-season award with earnings of $205,245 to defeat Wanted who had four winners for $176,365 in prizemoney.
