Elvstroem's exciting two year old filly Brilliant Bisc (ex Stella Cadente by Centaine) started her push towards this years Group One Golden Slipper Stakes with an impressive trial victory at Rosehill on Tuesday.
After an easy win in the Listed AJC Gimcrack Stakes at her only start back in October, Brilliant Bisc was sent straight to the paddock by her trainer Peter Moody. It would appear that she thoroughly enjoyed the benefits of owner Stuart Ramsey's property during her break as she has come back and picked up exactly where she left off. Just like she did in the Gimcrack, Brilliant Bisc jumped straight to the front in the trial and that was all her rivals saw of her. She covered the 900 metres in 54.10 coasting home two lengths clear of the beautifully bred Snitzel's Jewel.
"She has come back in great order" commented Moody's racing manager Jeff O'Connor who went on to say that Brilliant Bisc would trial again before her first up assignment was finalised. The Listed Widden Stakes over 1100 metres at Rosehill on February 16 was a likely target.Back
