Canford Cliffs first foal arrives.

Five time Group 1 winner and World Champion Miler Canford Cliffs has his first foal safely on the ground in Ireland. Born on Wednesday the 9th of January at Lynn Lodge Stud in County Westmeath, Canford Cliffs first foal is a bay colt out of the winning Exceed And Excel mare Smartest.

"He is a really good, strong colt with plenty of quality and a great colour" reports Lynn Lodge's Eddie O'Leary. Sounds very much like the horse himself and having achieved excellent fertility over 184 mares in his first season at stud in Ireland last year, it is a report we believe we will be hearing a lot in the coming weeks!

Canford Cliffs also achieved excellent fertility over a quality first book of mares here at Blue Gum Farm last season. Due to foal to him next spring are the group and/or stakes winners Dash For Gretna (SAF), Manna Miss, Mon Mekki, Personal Ensign, Reshuffles, Tempest Tost, Tingirana, etc., and the dams of group and/or stakes winners British Lion, Dan Baroness, Direct Charge, Draconic, Free Wheeling, Lucky Penny, Magical Pearl, Personal Ensign, Umaquest, etc.
