archive News on Blue Gum Farm

It would be fair to say that the response by breeders and industry leaders to Canford Cliffs coming to Blue Gum Farm has been extremely strong. The phones have been running hot, emails, text messages, you name it, the support for this horse has really reiterated what we already thought of Canford Cliffs.

In addition its the comments from some well respected industry players that really do make us all sit back and appreciate what Canford Cliffs signifies not just for Blue Gum Farm, but the Victorian Breeding Industry as a whole, below is just a snippet.

"Philip Campbell is to be congratulated on the announcement that this World Class racehorse and exciting stallion prospect is to continue a long tradition of Champion Stallions to have stood at his family's property," - TBV President Tim Johnson.

"A stallion of this ilk not only whets the appetite of the Victorian broodmare owners but also gives interstate breeders the perfect 'breed back' option so they can qualify their progeny for the lucrative Super VOBIS & VOBIS Gold incentive schemes," - Racing Victoria's Owners & Breeders Manager Richard Andrews.

" Congratulations on your acquisition of Canford Cliffs for Blue Gum Farm and Victoria. What a wonderful race horse! His ability to quicken, off what appears to be a high cruising speed, in such competitive 'stallion making races' is ultra impressive. Being from the very successful Hail To Reason sire line makes him an ideal outcross for mares here too. Well done." - Ian Baird of William Inglis & Son.
"Congratulations on securing a really nice prospect in Canford Cliffs. From my info he is a cracking sort and the Hail to Reason sire line just works in this part of the world. I hope you do really well with him and will be talking to my clients about possible bookings." - Adrian Hancock of Hancock Quality Bloodstock.

"Congrats on acquiring Canford Cliffs. Genuinely great horse. Having been to the last three Royal Ascots I know him well and it is a great credit to you and the Victorian industry to be able to secure him." - Louis Mihalyka of Laurel Oak Bloodstock.

" Well done team Blue Gum! What a fantastic thing to have secured a horse the quality of Canford Cliffs to stand in Victoria. I can't recall a more exciting horse to come here and winning those five Group One races over those distances make him an ideal stallion prospect, not just for Victoria, but indeed Australia. Fantastic news and once again congratulations." - Damon Gabbedy of Belmont Bloodstock.
