1st Southern Winner For Statue Of Liberty


Bred by David Addison of Mockingbird Hill, Free Dive was a $12,000 yearling at the 2007 Magic Millions National Sale; his unraced dam Our Teneriffe is a half-sister to Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude winner Card Queen.
 

Blue Gum Farm shuttler and first-crop sire Statue Of Liberty (Storm Cat-Charming Lassie, by Seattle Slew) recorded his initial Southern Hemisphere winner when two-year-old colt Free Dive (Statue Of Liberty-Our Teneriffe, by Kenvain) scored a front-running victory over 1,000 metres at Scone in the NSW Hunter Valley on Feburary 11 for trainer Rodney Northam. Bred by David Addison of Mockingbird Hill, Free Dive was a $12,000 yearling at the 2007 Magic Millions National Sale; his unraced dam Our Teneriffe is a half-sister to Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude winner Card Queen. Statue Of Liberty (who did not stand in Australia this year due to the equine influenza outbreak) has shuttled to Blue Gum Farm for three seasons. He was a US$1.3 million yearling at Keeneland and is a half-brother to Lemon Drop Kid from the family of A.P.Indy.
