Blue Gum Farm shuttler and first-crop sire Statue Of Liberty (Storm Cat-Charming Lassie, by Seattle Slew) recorded his initial Southern Hemisphere winner when two-year-old colt Free Dive (Statue Of Liberty-Our Teneriffe, by Kenvain) scored a front-running victory over 1,000 metres at Scone in the NSW Hunter Valley on Feburary 11 for trainer Rodney Northam. Statue Of Liberty (who did not stand in Australia this year due to the equine influenza outbreak) has shuttled to Blue Gum Farm for three seasons. He was a US$1.3 million yearling at Keeneland and is a half-brother to Lemon Drop Kid from the family of A.P.Indy.
